University of Waikato
Location: Tauranga, NZ | Client: Hawkins Construction
The University of Waikato is located in the Bay of Plenty Region, sitting on land donated by the Tauranga City Council. This new campus includes customisable teaching spaces, a lecture theatre, a multi-function space, computer clusters and common areas for both academic and social use.
The campus was made possible through $30 million of community funding from the Bay of Plenty Regional Council and the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust.
It is expected that 1000 full-time students would benefit from this new construction.
Hawkins Construction was appointed this project by the University of Waikato in 2017, with the project scheduled to be completed by early 2019.
Moddex worked with Hawkins Construction on the stair handrails and balustrades of the project.
