The construction of the M2PP Expressway includes a 16 kilometre shared cycleway and walkway, with bridleway sections, running alongside the 18 kilometre Expressway.
The shared pathway ties in with local roads and existing cycle tracks and walkways. There is a 3 metre-wide (sealed and unsealed in places) for cyclists and pedestrians, with a 1 metre wide grass pathway for horses and riders in most sections.

To be able to deliver the project on time, a product with short lead times and easy installation was needed. Moddex was the perfect fit due to the modular, preconfigured, pre-engineered nature of the system.
As there was no survey information and a two week deadline, the Moddex system meant there was flexibility to build, adjust and install onsite and subsequently deliver on time.
Moddex proprietary systems were utilised on the edge of cycle paths to increase safety and protect cyclists and pedestrians from veering onto the road.
